A green initiative that Treeco is proud to be a part of is the use of Vegetable oil in our chainsaws.

FACT: Modern chainsaws still use archaic 100% oil to waist lubricating systems to lubricate and cool the chain and chain bar. 

What this means: To cool and lubricate the bar and chain spinning around at speeds in excess of 10000 revolutions per minute, the chainsaw slowly feeds oil out of a reservoir onto the spinning chain.  This oil is then either thrown to the ground as liquid or vaporized by heat into the air as an air pollutant. Most chainsaw operation is done with petroleum based chain oil: 100% OF ALL THE CHAIN OIL PUT INTO A CHAINSAW IS INTRODUCED BACK INTO THE ENVIRONMENT. 

To put this into some perspective, a Tree Service working every week day will go through approximately 1 Gallon of chain oil per week. This adds up to over 50 Gallons or 200 Liters of Oil dumped into the environment every year and this is taking place right in our backyards! 

At TREECO we run 100% vegetable based oil as a chain lubricant in all of our saws. Dumping petroleum oil into the environment is not cool anymore.
